This section of Might and Magic VI strategy is in no way a collection of spoilers. Never! These advises could be called hints, but not spoilers.
Don't be frustrated if something is not turned out as you have thought. Try one more time. Remember, that all locations, all places are possible to pass and to beat. Try to use another tactic. Maybe, you simply need to relax. Well, you're playing the game, aren't you? It is not that you're making an annual report before the board of directors, right? Well, you can always read the following tips and advises. Perhaps, they could be useful.
Temple Baa in Ironfist
You can use the following tactic.
When you'll be fighting in the four tunnels, that lead even deeper underground, try to use the spell "Sparks". First of all run downhill into the hall and show yourself there (just a little bit) only enough to attract attention of your enemies. When they finally would spot you - turn around and run back. When you'll have some distance between your hero and the enemies, and you'll be on the higher ground than your enemies - turn around again, face your opponents and shower them with "Sparks". Your enemies will be below you and in one group - the spell will hit them tremendously.
Lair Of The Wolf
In the home of Werewolves you can earn a lot of experience.
After you'll hear the wails of the wolves - return and you'd find that the wolves you have just killed are restored to life, in order to provide you the legal opportunity to earn some more skill points. However, this opportunity appears not in every place.
Cave of the Dragon Riders in Kriegspire
You can use the following tactic.
Try to lure the Knights out from the caves one by one. Only then kill them, preferably with the magic means and always retreating and keeping enemies at distance.
Never allow a situation like on this picture. In the best case scenario, you will be alive for max. 30 seconds.
Before fighting, save your game. Watch carefully after your spells - because on each of those Knights, one spell is better working, and the other is not very good.
Be very attentive inside. The rooms are very entangled.
Don't forget to wear some item that protect you hero from insanity!
Remember that the parts of the key to that you'll need to find are located in very guarded places, and far from each other. Remember that this is the first castle on the continent, where a lots of magic is concentrated. And almost all of it's guard has one or other magic in his or her possession. And would gladly use it against you. Save, and save once again.
Before entering the castle don't cast any spells on yourself! It's useless as practically as soon as you enter, Evil Eyes and/or Power Liches will take off all protective and benefitial spells from your hero. You'll have to fight with the hero you've trained.
Don't forget to wear the anti-sleep ring!
Be very careful and attentive inside. The rooms are very confusing. Sometimes the automap is even more confusing than helping there. Trust more your own memory.
Be sure to check all passages, some of them are not visible from the first glance.
Tomb of Varn
Use the same tactic as in the Caves of the Dragon Riders. Lure the guards out in the groups of two and three, not more. Then you'll be able to kill them easily. Never try to attack the whole bunch. Don't be suicidal! Be sensible. Honestly, you would never ever do this in the real life, would you?
Don't count too much on the crystal skull. It isn't that good against radiation, actually. Better to use the folk wisdom - find water and clean yourself.
Don't forget to wear the anti-sleep ring!
The final battle of the game
1. Use the blaster (laser)!
2. It is very big chance (ab.90%), that at the very beginning of the battle all your hero's spell point will disappear (plotting of your enemies, no doubt!). It's useful to store a lot of magical potion bottles for restoring spell points.
3. The white potion that restore hit points will be useful too.
Always use to your advantage the situation when enemies are on the lower ground than your hero. You can just shoot at them this way. If the enemy is too cunning to give you such an advantage, then be even smarter than him - force your opponent to move to the lower ground. For example, use "Fly" spell and move yourself to the higher ground.
When you are on the higher ground that enemies, it's very useful not only shoot at them, but use some magic too. The "Sparks" spell is very handy in this case. Why? Because it is unbelievably cheap for its effectiveness and permit your hero to recover with very fast speed for a new round of the battle.
As you're playing solo, it's extremely important that your hero will wear some kind of item
(ring, for instance) that would protect him from the magical sleep. The magical sleep is the favourite way of attack for some nasty creatures, like Genies, for example.
Also, there are some deadly spells for your lone hero as well, like Paralyze and Stoned. Be absolutely sure that your hero would wear (wearing! not just keeping it in his/her inventory) some items against those spells. The items could be rings, helmets, cloaks, whatever, just don't forget to equip your hero with them!
Closer to the end of the game spend your accumulated skill points for advancing in the "ancient weapon" skill, i.e. lasers. It will definitely help you in the last battle.
Remember, that some greedy owners install booby traps at their chests. Learn "disarm trap" skill to avoid them. Your hero is alone, he can't be blasted every time he opens the chest. The best and the most expensive things are always protected by the most horrible traps!
The powerful attack spells that are handy in battles:
1. Mass Distortion
Be careful with the leaders of wolves - the Werewolf Leaders. You must never let them approach too close to you. Kill them always at a distance with magical means. Otherwise they could use their special ability on you.
They can kill an opponent in a one blow no matter how much life is still left in themselves. As you have only one hero, you just can't permit this to happen.
Dragon Tower Quest
Try to fulfill this quest as soon as possible. Otherwise these towers will be shooting at you every time you'd fly in proximity to them. Not a very pleasant experience - believe me!
The quest is given by Lord Erik von Stromgard from the Castle Stromgard in White Cap. Of course, he will ask from you to make a miracle, to take winter away and make a summer, but well, you can handle that. You are the hero of the Realm!
Be very careful when fighting these shooters. They will always damage some of your equipment. Don't fight with holes in the shield. Remember to repair your equipment. You can repair items between rounds on the battlefield, if you have the skill, of course. Each one of the Lizards use his own magic. And on each of them works also a specific magic. Do not make a mistake! Look in front of you - which kind of Lizard it is.
Use the spell "Shrinking Ray" (it makes your opponent very small). That is extremely useful.
Look for spell scrolls and wands bearing the enchantments!
Be very cautios with them. They are formidable opponents. Especially with the Minotaur Lord. His powerful spell of 'Die' which he will do against you can be quite effective. Well, you can actually die after his first (!) strike! Save!!!
Titans and even more Supreme Titans are the serious enemies. One of the most safest battle tactics is to come really close to them, stand directly in front of them and attack!
Well, actually, you could avoid fighting with them altogether. Be careful of the Supreme Titan! It is better to not fight with him. He is very powerful. It's a 95% chance that he will kill you with his special magic.
There are Specters in Corlagon's Estate in the Castle Ironfist, and in the Mire of the Damned. Don't let them approach too close to you! They can remove all hit points with only one blow even if they are halfdead themselves.
Master Axe Quest
When you'll be busy with the quest connected with the dwarves and you'll be on the final stage of it, it's useful to put a Lloyd's Beacon somewhere a little further from the door. That would help you to survive tremendously. Because as soon as you'll open the door to Snergle, you'd be surrounded by the huge croud of furious dwarves who may be small in height but very big in inflicting damage.
4. Remember, that these Kreegan beasts have the unnatural regeneration speed (what do you want from the aliens - be happy that they are not the Borgs, after all!). Therefore, if you'll decide to escape from their lair and breath some fresh air for a day or two, restore your health, visit some sunny beaches, whatever you have in mind; when you'd return back, there will be a nasty surprise for you. You'd find that all your previous efforts were in vain! Kreegans are in the same quantities as before. But there is one small secret of survival here too. In one of the passages inside the lair there is a place for restoring hit points. This place works perfectly well, not only for Kreegans (that is their's secret of regeneration!) but for your hero too.
5. When you'll destroy the Reactor - immediately run ahead and to the right, and get with your back to the wall. The main part of the Kreegans will be left on the other side of the wall, and fight till the last of those Kreegans and their Queen are dead!
Do not count on magic. Only the blaster.
