~ Pit
Pit
It is the heart and hometown of the Necromancers and a real challenge for you. Before you go there, be sure to make a save of the game.
Already in the outskirts of the Pit you'll meet Obsidian Gargoyles, Zombies and the Harpy Hags.
When you'll pass all of them, you will finally come to the doors of the Pit itself. Be sure to make a save game again before the massive doors.
In the Pit itself, it is better to use Invisibility. Inside there is a lot of nasty creatures: Ghosts, Vampires, Liches, and the worst of them - the Queens of the Dead.
Remember, that should you begin fighting in the Pit, you will have to face the fact that the Queens of the Dead are capable of the same magical trick of summoning as the Wizards in Celeste, the difference is only that they summon Ghosts and hundreds of them per turn. Moreover, apart from summoning, the Queens of the Dead have the ability to cast other deadly dark spells as well.
So, you better think twice before engaging in a battle inside the Pit, especially as you have just one Hero. He/she may be the Hero, but it's much better to have an alive Hero than a dead one. Therefore, my advice - do not fight, use the spell of Invisibility. Heroic doesn't mean stupid.
Also, there is one more difficulty in Pit. The only ways are the narrow pathways with fire lava all around them. If you do not have in your possession the dragon-scale boots, avoid stepping on the lava. In seconds your Hero would get a tremendous amount of damage and in a minute he/she will be like a well-done steak or a grilled hotdog. So, be careful, and keep your balance.
The Breeding Zone of the Pit         back to the top
It is the main researching center of Archibald. The most diffirent and horrible monsters are constantly created and regenerated in tremendous numbers in that place. You'll meet Fire Elementals, the familiar Gogs/Magogs and the wild Behemoths, mad from the hot and alien for them environment.
Water Magic is very efficient against the Fire Elementals.
With Behemoths it may be tougher, as you can remember from the previous encounters with these huge creatures. They are standing on very narrow paths and you can't run past them. You will have to kill them before you will be able to go on. So, this is what you should do:
Before the jump down to the tunnels of the Zone, stand on the edge and shower all the space below with the thousands of Sparks. Keep casting this spell until everyone on the spot below
will be dead. Be absolutely sure that there are no living Behemoths below before you'll jump down. Only after this take this step down. The same tactics you can use in the tunnels. The tactics with the spell of Sparks is your best shot to emerge alive from this place. Don't underestimate them - they are extremely cheap and effective when used in huge amounts.
Tularean Forest     back to the top
Trees

Actually, it is a pretty peaceful place with the Elves as the primary inhabitants.
The only thing that is ought to be mentioned is the encounter with the Trees. They are extremely upset with the humans, as they have stolen their Heart of Wood. It isn't necessary to fight them, just run past them. When you'll return to them with the Heart, the Trees will be your best friends.
Clanker's Laboratory

Here is where Archibald spends long hours studying the secret and dark arts. It is a very interesting place, absolutely worth visiting. A lot of extremely useful things, as Archibald has collected a huge amount of rare things that could not be founded anywhere on the continent anymore. The best are his powerful chemical ingredients, that will be very handy for your own alchemical experiments.
Of course, there will be some guards. You didn't think that such a treasure would be left unguarded, would you? Golems, Evil Eyes, and Gogs/Magogs are all well known to you at this point, so you'll be able to defeat them quite efficiently.
Avlee       back to the top
Elves again here.
But apart from them there are other creatures and some of them are serious opponents!
Water Elementals

The Water Elementals are like water as you can guess from their name. The Elves are known for their caring of nature and good ecological situation, so the water around the Avlee shoreline is clean and pure. No wonder that the Water Elementals like to live in the shore waters of Avlee and their numbers have been increasing dramatically. The Water Elementals feel themselves like fishes in water, and move nearly as fast, but you are not a fish and even not a Water Elemental, so you'll have a big disadvantage out here. The main battle tactic of the Water Elementals is to take an opponent in
circle and shoot with water magic spells at him/her. It isn't the way to fight them, believe me.
Better to cast Water Walk and even the chances with them. Don't try to shoot at them back, just come close and behead them one by one. Of course, you'll have to run after each one of them, but otherwise, you'll have to shoot at them. They'll be shooting back at you, of course, and this way a lot of casualties are guaranteed and not only among the Water Elementals, and
this is exactly what you cannot allow as your Hero is alone and the one casualty for you is the fatal end for this battle.
Wyverns

These flying lizards are some formidable opponents. Nobody knows why the Wyverns live in the Avlee Mountains. Their homeland is Tatalia, the Land of the Swamps; probably they just got lost in a storm some time at the past and liked their new home. The greater danger is presented by the Ancient Wyverns. They can kill with one blow.

Arcomage      back to the top
It is the place, which one enters, but does not come out. Still, there is no doubt that you would like to visit this place anyway, as you have probably heard a lot of rumours about huge treasuries accumulated there within the span of thousands of years.
In the Stronghold live Titans and Dragons, though it can sound strange, but it is true. Perhaps the well spread belief about the hate
between the both creatures, the reason of which nobody even remembers is a little bit overstated.
It is truly the last Temple of Baa in this world where the last followers of this far spreaded in near past religion gathered together. After the total destruction of both the religion and the Kreegans in Enroth, the few of the worshippers have ran to the land of Antagarich. It is the place that must be visited by you at all means, as it is necessary for your promotion and you'll find one exremely useful, wonderful and rare thing that will be very handy later, but you'll need to kill the Kreegans and the Followers of Baa first.
Even if you hate to swim, you'll not avoid some scuba diving if you want to finish the game. Remember, that before you can put one of the "Swimming Suits" on yourself, you will have to take off all your equipment, including the last ring and amulet.
When you'll dive to the Sea Bottom, swim a little bit to the right and then straight ahead to the old, sinked ship. Under it you will find a chest with the strange bottle inside, which will be the
temple.
This Temple in a Bottle is actually the 3DO Office, where you will have a chance to meet with the game creators in person. If you don't want to waste your time on this, then just skip the experience, as actually you can't do anything in this Temple in the Bottle.
Swim further along. You need to reach Lincoln, the goal of your Underwater trip. You must work with your flippers very hard as the sea depths are swarming with man-eating sharks, and
you look extremely tasty for them.
Be absolutely sure to make a game save before entering the Lincoln. After making the save, you will need to switch on the battle mode and ONLY after this - enter the Lincoln.
As soon as you will be inside, take off the "Swimming Suite" as fast as you can and put back on yourself all your equipment. You must do this really fast. You can practice beforehand, you know, just to make sure that you've got a hang of this.
Inside the Lincoln you will meet not living and breathing creatures and not even undead or animated golems. There are machines inside. And very powerful machines at this! And they are also programmed to defend the place against any intruders.
It will be tough. Perhaps, the toughest fight you have done in the game. Try to survive the experience.
Well, if you have tried and failed and finally despaired, E-Mail me or find me in the 3DO Community, or on the Message Board, and I'll share a secret with you - how to avoid fighting with them at all and how to pass the Lincoln without killing anyone/anything.
If you want to be the winner of the Contest, be certain to make a save before going in the Tavern and playing Arcomage. You must win at every Tavern around the continent. Even one loss, and you are not qualified. So, save, play, if you lose - reload and try again.
Inside, my advice will be no fighting. Use Invisibility, and take what you need without attracting attention to yourself.
Of course, some moralist would call you a thief, but don't you think that in this situation it is better to be a thief but alive, than a hero but dead?
