On Sundays the world of Might and Magic has a holiday, except the Castle Ironfist. There the poor guys have to work and there is a scheduled ride to the Arena. The Arena is the place where you can fight for money (like the Gladiators in the Ancient Rome, except that they didn't get any money for this, and you do, if you will win, of course). It will raise your experience as well.

! Pay attention that the ship "Barracuda", which goes between the North and the South Islands in Castle Alamos is not shown. She goes from Silver Cove to the South Island on Thursdays, and on Saturdays from the South Island to the North Island. From the North Island back to Silver Cove there is an another ship, "Tiger Shark".
!The ship "Queen Catherine" in Ironfist goes to the Hermit's Isle every day, even including Sundays. Also on Sundays there is a special passage to the Volcano (but the ship will take you to these places only after you have spoken with the Oracle).

When you're paying 'solo' with only one hero, visiting the shrines isn't the first necessity, as a matter of fact. Why? Because the substantial increase (usually +10) the shrine gives you only at the first visit. At the second visit the effect is sharply diminished.
At the time when you would visit the Arbiter and find out about the shrine's schedule (until you do this, the shrines will have no effect whatsoever), and the hero would run to the shrines themselves, their effect will be not that big on the hero's statistics. The reason is that you're playing with only one hro - he/she kills everybody by himself/herself, alone, he/she gets a lot of experience from this, he/she would learn a lot at the time he'll/she'll finally come to the shrines.
